The McKay Scholarship Program allows parents of students with disabilities to choose the best academic environment for their children. This program provides a variety of options including the opportunity to attend a participating private school or transfer to another public school. Eligible students include students with disabilities who have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP), and who were enrolled and reported for funding by a Florida school district the year prior to applying for a scholarship. Students with parents in the Armed Forces who transfer to Florida due to a permanent change in orders may also be eligible
With a Step Up For Students Scholarship, your K-12 student has more school options. The Florida Tax Credit Scholarship gives families a choice of financial assistance toward private school tuition and fees, or helps with transportation costs for students to attend a public school different than the one the student is assigned to. The Family Empowerment Scholarship may be used towards private school tuition and fees.
With a Family Empowerment Scholarship (formerly Gardiner), your child has more learning options. The Family Empowerment Scholarship (formerly Gardiner) is different than other state scholarships in that it allows parents to personalize the education of their children with unique abilities by directing money toward a combination of programs and approved providers. These include schools, therapists, specialists, curriculum, technology – even a college savings account.
